Back by popular demand, and with a twist, the Women of Intention will be returning once again to Lake Redman to spend a relaxing evening boating under the stars. 

If you have never been out on a lake at night, you are in for a treat.  The stars are brilliant; the sounds of nature comforting.

Last year, there were many women asking if they might bring their husband/partner/boyfriend to the event, and/or their children.  The answer was no.  This year, we welcome them to join us.  And, ladies, if you yearn for an evening on the Lake without them, feel free to leave them at home.

We will gather at the Pavilion near the Lake at 7:00 PM.   Please bring a dish to share.  I will provide paper ware, silverware and beverages.  At about 8:30, we will head out on the water and have until 9:45 to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the outdoors after dark. 

At 9:45, we will meet in the middle of the Lake where Jeri Jones, York Recreation’s Amateur Astronomer Extraordinaire, will tie our boats together.  For the next 30 minutes, with the assistance of his trusty laser pointer, we will be treated to his tour of the heavens. The evening will conclude with our making our own ice cream sundaes.  Could life get any better than that?

The evening will conclude close to 11:00 or a little after.  The rain date is the next Friday, July 27th.   Please align with my intention and request to the Weather God(dess) that July 20th be an evening clear of all clouds with a temperature in the low 70’s. 

As we get closer to the event, if anyone is in need of a ride and/or wishes to car pool, I will do my best to connect those that are going.  Lake Redman is at the southern end of York and takes approximately 30 minutes to get to from the 581/83 South split.

A reminder, at all 2007 events, one dollar for each woman attending will be donated to The Ladies Half.  I invite you to check out their website, www.theladieshalf.org and consider supporting them with your time and/or money.  It is my intention to support their efforts as all money donated will be used in our South-Central Pennsylvania community.
